Board of Directors
President
The President shall supervise all the business and affairs of the Circuit; shall preside at all meetings of the Circuit; and shall appoint any committees requested by the membership, the Board, or as needed.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Official correspondence for any Circuit function
- Point person for all vendor/facility contracts
- Setting of Board/Circuit meetings
- Nominations: Appoints a Nominations committee by March 1st of each year
- Committees: Oversees the Budget, Audit, Hall of Fame (as long as President is a member of the MCGC Hall of Fame), Nominations and Adjudication Committees.

Vice President
The Vice President shall be responsible for the continuing education of the circuit members and instructors. The Vice President must run at least two seminars per year; one focusing on the marching members, one focusing on the instructional staffs of the units. They will perform such duties as may be assigned by the President.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Circuit Development: Emphasis on education and exposure to non-MCGC performing units; Work in conjunction with Percussion Liaison and Directors at Large

Clinics: Coordinate Educational and Instructional Clinics; Work in conjunction with Class reps and Percussion Liaison

Recruiting of new units: Work in conjunction with Directors at Large, Class Reps, Percussion Liaison and Mentorship Committee

Treasurer
The Treasurer shall have charge of, and give receipts for, all moneys due and deposit all such moneys in the name of the Circuit in such banks as may be selected by the Board; send all correspondence informing of late penalties to the member in question immediately following the infraction; process 1099’s at close of year and file appropriate federal and state tax forms; and perform such duties as may be assigned by the President.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Reimburse all circuit related expenses

Manage detailed financial reports and have available for all board & general membership meetings

Coordinate with show hosts regarding contest payouts and circuit personnel/judges’ fees

Manage all MCGC bank & credit accounts

Committees: Member of the Budget Committees; Oversees the Scholarship and Merchandise Committees

Secretary
The Secretary shall keep minutes of all meetings and publish them; see that all notices are given; be custodian of the Circuit records and keep a register of the membership and their addresses; and in general, perform all such duties incidental to the office.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Membership Records: Data entry of incoming forms and payments from member units into the online database; Work in conjunction with the Webmaster on setting up online reports for various board functions

Receipt of All Circuit Information: All circuit information will be sent to one central address – that of the current MCGC secretary; Provide Contest Coordinators with unit “paid” status information for show scheduling

Circuit Communication: Meeting notices, Circuit-wide emails, Brochure & Website; Manage the MCGC Voicemail; Work in conjunction with Board and webmaster

Committees: Oversees the Historical, Awards & Photography Committees

Contest Coordinators
The two Contest Coordinators will split the responsibilities necessary to their elected office. The Contest Coordinators shall handle all scheduling aspects of Circuit sanctioned contests; have charge of necessary Circuit equipment for the operation of the contest; coordinate between the Contest Director and show host; and have final decisions in all contest related situations. The Contest Coordinators are allowed to appoint, at their discretion, an assistant for any contest, with the approval of the Board.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Show Host Applications/Setting Show Schedule: Create, distribute and review show host applications and set a recommended schedule to be presented to Board of Directors; Meet with appointed show hosts in December prior to season start; After creation of contest schedule, create show performance, warmup and critique schedules on a weekly basis as needed for each contest; Work in conjunction with Webmaster for posting information online; Keep in constant communication with show hosts regarding all aspects of show hosting and open issues.

Tabulators/Equipment: Keep all circuit equipment and supplies in good condition/stocked and transport to each show; Provide MCGC laptop, printer, and tape dubber for tabulator use; Order blank tapes and supply appropriate amount to tabulators in advance of their next contest; Make appropriate number of copies of needed judges’ sheets, tape labels and sheet labels for upcoming contest and distribute to tabulators in week prior to their next contest (or earlier)

Directors at Large
The two Directors at Large will split the responsibilities necessary to their elected office. The Directors at Large shall perform all such duties as may be assigned to them by the President. They will promote MCGC as a whole as well as activities provided by the circuit for the growth and education of its members.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Recruiting: Recruit new units and make all information available to them to get started and to get involved.

Mentorship: Promote the Mentorship program to all members of circuit and work with Mentorship Chairperson; Work with Class Reps concerning new/newer units following up and watching the progress of these units; Be available to answer questions concerning rules, dues, contests, etc. for all members of the MCGC

Education: Assist VP with hands on clinics and instructor clinics; Take a “hands on” approach if necessary by holding clinics, meetings, taking part in rehearsals, etc.; Maintain/update circuit instructional video library and make these available to all members of the circuit.

The WGI, MCGC, and Percussion Representatives will serve as a liaison between the classes represented and the Board. The Class Representatives will work with the Directors at Large to develop and implement the mentorship program. The Class Representatives will help guide administrative responsibilities/paperwork, and advertise the MCGC educational materials library, scholarships availability and policies for the represented units.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Mentorship: Work with new recruited units once paired up through the mentorship committee
Clinics: Work with Vice President and Directors at Large to inform your represented units about upcoming clinics and encourage units to attend
Education: Work in conjunction with Vice President, Directors at Large and Percussion Liaison to encourage units and their instructors to attend MCGC Clinics and WGI events

Percussion Liaison
Individual with a percussion background who assists the MCGC board and percussion units with recruitment, requirements, rules, input on judging assigning, and general advising to all percussion units.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Recruiting: Recruit new percussion and Indoor Band units and make all circuit information available to them

Committees: Work in conjunction with the Mentorship Committee after recruiting new units; Oversees the Percussion Advisory Committee

Immediate Past President
The Immediate Past President shall be retained for one year as a consultant to the Board of Directors to aid in the transition to a new administration.

Judge Coordinator*
*Hired Consultant
Responsibilities include arranging all judge training as per MCGJA training standard, assigning of judges under guidelines set by MCGC , notification of all training events and Field Day, providing Treasurer a payout the Thursday before every contest, have all judges contracted through MCGJA complete a W-9 before any payment is made, sending maps to judges, sending and receiving contracts from judges. It is permissible for the Judge Coordinator to obtain assistance from one or more individuals to fulfill responsibilities. An assignment fee will be paid to this position as set by MCGC Board. Expenses incurred to fulfill position will also be reimbursed. The Judge Coordinator is responsible for a report at the spring and fall General Membership meetings.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Adjudication: Will coordinate one or more Judges Clinics throughout the season.
